Altafiumara Opens the Theater Season
Yesterday, January 23rd, AltaFiumara opened a new chapter in its cultural offerings, transforming its picturesque cultural wine cellar into a theater stage. The opening event featured the play "Persefone" (Persephone), written, directed, and performed by Teresa Timpano, which took the audience on an emotional journey through Greek myth, introspection, and deep territorial roots.
A Modern and Powerful Persephone
In her performance, Teresa Timpano brought to life a complex and contemporary Persephone, exploring the female soul with a unique sensitivity. The play intertwined poetry and introspection, tackling themes of dreams, desires, and power. The actress's magnetic stage presence drew the audience into a deep and reflective experience, making the Greek myth feel both current and universal.
Excellence in Gastronomy by Chef Antonio Battaglia
The theatrical experience was enriched by an exclusive tasting menu created by Chef Antonio Battaglia. The dishes, inspired by Calabrian tradition, surprised guests with innovative culinary elements, skillfully combining authentic flavors with bold reinterpretation. The selection of Calabrian wines—a tribute to the region's Greek roots—completed a multisensory journey, blending art and taste into perfect harmony.
"Starting tonight, we are opening our doors to theater as well," declared Antonio Battaglia. "It is an honor to showcase our land through food, creating an exclusive and profound dialogue that allows us to continue our journey toward becoming an increasingly solid and prestigious cultural hub."
A Vision Celebrating Culture and Territory
The resort’s communications manager, Christian Zuin, emphasized how the event reflects the core of AltaFiumara's vision: celebrating local culture and traditions through unique, high-quality events. "This evening represents the heart of our vision," he stated.
Artistic director Elmar Elisabetta Marcianò added: "Persephone reminded us of the power of roots and the value of the feminine, in a perfect marriage of art, myth, and territory. As the lights go down on Persephone, we are already working on the next event, which will be truly one of a kind."
A Historic Moment for AltaFiumara
Enriching the event were the works of artist Santina Milardi, which made the stage design even more evocative. AltaFiumara’s owner, Gaetano Bevacqua, expressed deep pride in the transformation of the cultural wine cellar into a theater stage. "I firmly believe that theater, much like wine, has the power to tell stories, evoke emotions, and bring people together. This first performance is not just an event, but a hymn to beauty, sharing, and creativity, which lie at the very foundation of our philosophy."
A Future Rich in Events and Discoveries
With this first performance, AltaFiumara confirms its position as a benchmark for experiences that combine culture, culinary excellence, and local roots. The next event of the theater season is already highly anticipated, promising to continue to amaze and engage the audience.
