Cultural Enoteca Inauguration
At Altafiumara, the New Home of Calabrian Wine
December 17th was a truly special day for us at Altafiumara Resort & SPA: we opened the doors to our Enoteca Culturale (Cultural Wine Cellar), a new space where wine meets the culture, history, and traditions of our region. Set in an atmospheric location, the Enoteca Culturale is much more than just a tasting room. It is an ambitious project born to position Calabrian wine center stage and to bring both industry experts and wine enthusiasts closer to this world rich in stories and flavors.
A Project Narrating the Territory and Its Excellence
The Enoteca Culturale is the result of a deep commitment to showcasing Calabria's winemaking heritage. Every selected bottle is a piece of our identity, a narrative intertwined with the land, its traditions, and the people who inhabit it. Here, wine is not simply a beverage to be enjoyed, but a medium to tell authentic stories, pass down traditions, and forge new connections.
The opening night saw a fantastic turnout of producers, experts, enthusiasts, and institutional representatives. It was thrilling to see our project come to life through dialogue, tastings, and shared enthusiasm. Guests had the chance to discover the first selected labels—true expressions of the quality and character of local wines, and symbols of a land that has so much to tell and offer.
A Space for Encounters, Discovery, and Growth
Our Enoteca Culturale is not a destination, but the starting point for a journey of discovery into Calabrian wine. Over time, we will host training courses for industry professionals, presentation evenings dedicated to wineries and specific terroirs, and meetings with leading experts from the wine world. Our goal is to create an open space for dialogue and growth, where producers, professionals, and enthusiasts can meet, exchange ideas, and share their passion for wine.
We want the Enoteca Culturale to become a place where everyone feels welcome and inspired. Wine is culture, and as such, it must be accessible to all: from seasoned experts to the simply curious, and from sommeliers to travelers in search of new experiences.

The inauguration on December 17th was just the beginning of this adventure. A project of this scale would not have been possible without the support of many organizations that, like us, believe in promoting our region. Towards an Annual Event Dedicated to Calabrian Wine
The opening of the Enoteca Culturale represents the first step of a broader and even more ambitious project: organizing a major annual event dedicated entirely to Calabrian wine. The objective is to transform Reggio Calabria into a benchmark for wine culture, drawing national attention and celebrating the enological richness of our region. We want this event to become a permanent fixture on the calendar—a moment where producers, experts, and enthusiasts can gather to share knowledge, experiences, and, above all, the authentic value of our wine.
